A few factors add unique value to our Families:

  • The talent. Kelsey Baker is a professional photographer. She takes amazing photos of athletes, scenery, reflections, dogs, Black Lives Matters protests, naked bike rides, dogs, and any anything else interesting that’s going on. You might have seen her on the sidelines of Timbers games. She’s also great with kids. You can see her work here on Instagram. In transparent fashion she has also been our housemate since 2019.
  • The space. Your child is comfortable at Sunflower Preschool. The space largely goes unused during the weekend. Et voila: comfort + time/space = opportunity.
  • The value. By stacking a few shoots back-to-back, Kelsey can offer a discounted rate because she does not have to spend time and energy going to widespread places or coordinating with different clients.

The Details

DATE: NEXT DATE TBD.

TIME SLOTS (EACH SESSION 30 MINUTES)(fingers crossed for a sweet fall morning): See Calendar (just send us a note via ProCare and we’ll jot it down on the calendar)

COST$220 $150 per session (Payments go directly to Kelsey via Venmo.)

DELIVERABLES: A digital album of your portraits and candids is delivered within one week.

PROCESS: The first few minutes will be spent understanding your goals for the shoot. Then there are a few areas where you can pose. And then Kelsey will direct your family system in a series of gentle activities designed to evoke those orchestrated-but-candid moments. We anticipate this process to be fluid and flexible because, well, kids. Within a week, Kelsey takes the shots and does some gentle post-production magic, and then sends the photos to you directly. It’s typically between 20-30 photos (she picks out the best so you don’t have to).

We’ll fill in the slots with initials of sign ups. If we need more slots we can likely add them.

What to Know the Day of the Photo Shoot

A few tips….

  • What to wear…. want to look nice, and be comfortable. Coordinated, but not too matchy. Aim for solid hues with dark colors on bottom and lighter colors on the top.
  • What to bring…. consider snacks and water bottles.
  • What to expect…. a professional and friendly experience.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS (from when we did this at Mud Pies Preschool)

Before Kelsey, we had never done formal portraits because we don’t have the time to line something up, we didn’t know who to trust, and we’re not really a “portrait” kind of family. But this turned out to be super easy and fun. The deliverables were priceless: an awesome holiday card, plus great photos (we printed them out and gave out to far-flung family members), plus great photos that we had printed on canvas and now hang in our living room, capturing this unique and special period in our lives.

This was great. Easy time commitment, convenient location, affordable price, and excellent photos! I’m grateful Kelsey does the work of only sending the best 30 (instead of all 100).
